The story behind Monton in Bloom

The Story Behind Monton In Bloom

Inspired by the promises of spring and symbolizing a new season of life, vitality, and vibrancy, Monton In Bloom is my new art collection of original paintings. It’s a reflection of growth, dreams, and the process of blooming. Each painting is a capsule of the energy and transformation of spring, representing new life, reawakening, and hope. The collection of paintings is a unique representation of the positive energies and uplifting spirits found in Monton.

About Monton:

Monton is my home, it’s a village in the City of Salford, Greater Manchester, Eccles, Salford. I moved to Monton eight years ago, and I love it. It’s so close to an abundance of nature with Monton Green and Worsley Woods and right next to the Bridgewater Canal. Monton has a unique community spirit where people seem to care, there’s always a friendly face, and it feels safe. The nature and community inspire me.

About Spring:

Spring is my favourite season, I love Spring after the grey winter, seeing the shoots of green and life coming through. Spring brings new growth and life.  Spring is exciting; it has potential for what’s to come.

Bringing to life Monton in Bloom:

The initial inspiration for Monton in Bloom came from the images I have captured over the years. Before I start any collection of work, I create a mind map of what I want the collection of paintings to represent. When I am working in my studio, every day is different. How I am feeling will be represented in the work. Some days are more productive than others. For the first few days, it takes a while for me to switch into gear to get into my flow; the work will transform daily, and I will fall in and out of love with my work daily. Some of the paintings might look simple, but those are the ones I have probably spent the most time creating, overpainting and painting.

Within the paintings, I wanted them to represent the high energy of new beginnings and the anticipation of what’s to come. The paintings have my signature fluorescent pink throughout the work. When I paint, I play music loud to get into my flow and trust my intuitive creativity. I have been playing ambient music that reminds me of spring, a lot of The Cinematic Orchestra.

The Legacy of Monton in Bloom:

When people first view the collection, I want them to feel uplifted, motivated, and inspired to reflect on their dreams and next chapter. And when they buy pieces to hang in their homes, I want the first connection feeling they had when they saw the painting to be a reminder that we write our story and there is always another chapter, a new beginning. There is always time to bl
